Requirements
  • A Master's degree in law from an accredited European university.
  • Qualification to practice in at least one European Union jurisdiction.
  • Four to six years of experience in law firm and/or in-house legal roles.
  • Strong experience in commercial contracts, corporate law, and trade defense in Europe.
  • Working knowledge of European Union regulatory frameworks, including the General Data Protection Regulation, competition, and trade.
  • Fluency in English.
Responsibilities
  • Support sourcing and commercial teams with customer, supplier, logistics, services, technology, and outsourcing agreements.
  • Partner with commercial and procurement teams on negotiations, deal execution, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance contract templates, playbooks, and contracting processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation options to support decision-making.
  • Advise on legal, regulatory, and ethical risks while proposing practical solutions.
  • Train and support colleagues on contracts, legal principles, and risk awareness.
  • Support corporate governance, legal entity management, and statutory compliance across European Union entities.
  • Partner with Finance, Tax, and Audit on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Identify European Union regulatory requirements and escalate matters when external counsel is required.
  • Translate regulatory obligations into practical business guidance.
  • Support internal investigations, including Code of Conduct matters, with proper process and documentation.
  • Oversee insurance-related legal matters in coordination with Finance.
  • Support European Union trade defense matters, including anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and safeguard cases.
  • Coordinate with industry associations, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Advise leadership on the commercial and operational impacts of trade defense actions.
  • Monitor European Union trade policy and flag risks and opportunities.
  • Determine when external counsel is required.
  • Manage external legal counsel across European Union jurisdictions, including scope, cost, and quality.
  • Track and manage legal spend and the external legal budget.
