Clayton State University is expanding its commitment to student well-being through the Peer Wellness Education Program. (August 28, 2026) - Clayton State University is expanding its commitment to student well-being through the Peer Wellness Education Program, a student-led initiative designed to elevate wellness across campus through education, programming, and awareness campaigns. Sponsored by the Health & Wellness Center and the Division of Student Affairs, the program grew out of the University's strategic planning efforts and empowers students to make informed decisions about their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Peer Wellness Educators focus on four key areas: sexual health, mental health, nutritional health, and holistic health. Peer-to-peer education supports health education and promotion by increasing awareness, connecting students to resources, and creating a sense of belonging through shared experiences. The program was developed and coordinated by Dr. Angela Cole with Atrium Health in collaboration with Clayton State University faculty. This fall marks the first full academic year of the initiative, with a total of 10 students trained and certified since the program began. The program reflects Clayton State's continued commitment to creating a healthier, and informed campus community.
