Requirements
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.

  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Tech in Surgery (TS-C) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • New Hampshire Medical Technologist registration, unless another current New Hampshire state license is held.
  • Frequent use of fine motor and sensory skills.
  • Ability to complete required competencies within the specified timeframes.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and prepare sterile instrumentation and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Assist the surgical team with the verification process, intra-operative procedures, and case closure protocol.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations that may arise.
  • Work under the direction of the Circulator and remain accountable to the Registered Nurse Manager/Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Complete Basic Life Support competency within 30 days.
  • Complete competencies within 90 days covering preference cards, instrument preparation, maintenance of the sterile field, surgical briefings and time-outs, safe instrument handling, surgical counts, and instrument inventory and decontamination.
