Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • CRCST or CBSPD certification is required.
  • Recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician is required.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles.
  • The employee must understand computers and demonstrate competence using computers and basic software programs.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee assigned shifts and staff, including managing workflow to meet demand.
  • Seek out and participate in mentoring opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with the operating room.
  • Participate in educating staff on new equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Help design and enforce policies and procedures relevant to Sterile Processing.
  • Report safety-related incidents promptly through the Midas/RDE tool.
  • Attend all safety-related training programs and perform work safely.
  • Monitor the work environment for possible safety issues and ensure others also work safely.
  • Stay current with and comply with state and federal regulations, statutes, and company policies affecting the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure required certifications and licenses remain current and valid before expiration.
  • Complete all mandatory company modules and required job-specific training within the specified timeframe.
  • Participate in the hiring process, employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee grievances.
  • Perform SPD Supervisor duties when necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Sterile Processing program or other higher education is preferred.
  • CSPM or CHL certification is preferred.
  • Certification as an Instrument Specialist is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
