Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Facility Maintenance Supervisor provides clear direction and effective leadership to the maintenance department through goal setting and timely feedback. This individual is responsible for supporting the activities of manufacturing and facility operations and leading continuous improvement efforts within the maintenance and manufacturing areas. Ensures that the facility, infrastructure and equipment are properly maintained with a focus on safety, quality and performance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership to the maintenance facility group and ensures the department operates safely and efficiently
• Manages capital projects and project timelines from inception through completion
• Directs preventative maintenance activities and ensures PM program is effective
• Timely and effective communication with the management team
• Have a strong commitment to safety
• Maintains all facility machinery, building, grounds and landscape
• Ensures proper operation of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems and security of the building
• Ensures safety of all access and egress points of the building
• Maintains reliability of building plumbing, process water treatment, compressed air and HVAC systems
• Works with municipal services in the event of fire, flood or other such emergencies
• Monitors environmental regulation of permits according to state and federal regulations
• Maintains and schedules required inspections of plants fire system, outfalls, boilers, cranes and plant water systems

AUTHORITY LEVEL: Project Leader, all electrical maintenance department employees.

EDUCATION:    

Required: High Diploma

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a medium-to-large manufacturing facility with experience supervising a department.

Preferred: 5-10years experience as a Maintenance Supervisors in a plastic blow molding facility.

SKILLS:

Required: Strong technical background with emphasis on electrical/electronic expertise; proven leader with experience supervising technicians; strong writing and computer skills. Good communication skills. Strong commitment to safety.

Preferred: Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting’ Robotic integration and programming: Hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical troubleshooting skills. Processing background in a blow molding facility.
