Requirements
  • The role requires 15+ years of progressive experience in procure-to-pay, procurement operations, or shared services, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • The candidate must have designed and executed global-scale procure-to-pay transformation programs involving automation implementation, system rollouts, and operating model redesign.
  • The candidate must have deep functional expertise in procurement operations, including requisition, purchase order management, and supplier onboarding, as well as accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment, and reconciliation.
  • The candidate must have hands-on experience with enterprise procure-to-pay platforms and enterprise resource planning systems such as Zip, Coupa, Ariba, Concur, Emburse, Ramp, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
  • The candidate must have strong command of financial controls, compliance frameworks, and audit requirements relevant to third-party spend and accounts payable operations.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated ability to lead and develop global, distributed teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • The candidate must have exceptional executive communication skills to translate operational complexity into clear strategy and concise reporting for senior leadership.
  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the global procure-to-pay strategy and establish a unified, scalable operating model across procurement operations and accounts payable.
  • Build and own the procure-to-pay transformation roadmap, prioritizing automation, artificial-intelligence-driven workflow orchestration, systems modernization, and process standardization.
  • Establish governance covering policy, controls, approval authority, and compliance to maintain financial rigor and audit readiness.
  • Serve as the executive voice of the procure-to-pay function by translating operational performance into strategic recommendations for the Chief Financial Officer and cross-functional leadership.
  • Own automation across the procure-to-pay lifecycle from intake and requisition through purchase order issuance, goods receipt, invoice processing, and supplier payment.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and continuous optimization of automated workflows to reduce manual effort and cycle times and increase throughput without adding headcount.
  • Partner with Finance Technology and Information Technology to evaluate, implement, and integrate procure-to-pay platforms, enterprise resource planning modules, and point solutions.
  • Drive catalog expansion, guided buying adoption, and touchless purchase order rates to minimize off-contract and non-purchase-order spend.
  • Champion artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities within the procure-to-pay stack, including intelligent routing, automated approvals, exception identification, and anomaly detection.
  • Define use cases and success metrics for artificial-intelligence-driven automation across requisition intake, invoice matching, approval escalation, and payment risk scoring.
  • Partner with data and engineering teams to build artificial-intelligence-powered workflows that learn from transaction data and reduce manual exception handling.
  • Ensure artificial-intelligence-driven processes maintain human oversight, audit trails, and compliance controls.
  • Build and maintain a real-time spend management framework providing visibility into committed spend, open obligations, and payment flows.
  • Design and enforce financial controls across the procure-to-pay lifecycle, including three-way matching, delegation of authority, supplier payment terms, and duplicate-payment prevention.
  • Own procure-to-pay compliance and risk management, including internal audit readiness, Sarbanes-Oxley-related controls where applicable, and supplier fraud prevention.
  • Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis and Accounting to ensure procure-to-pay data flows support budgeting, accruals, and month-end close processes.
  • Establish key performance indicator dashboards and reporting cadences covering purchase-order compliance, invoice cycle time, touchless rate, on-time payment, and supplier satisfaction.
  • Lead standardization of procure-to-pay processes across global regions while localizing processes where legally required.
  • Build and maintain a global procure-to-pay playbook containing documented standard operating procedures, workflow diagrams, training materials, and control frameworks.
  • Partner with regional finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure global processes adhere to local regulatory requirements, tax obligations, and supplier payment regulations.
  • Drive change-management and adoption programs to embed new processes and systems across a distributed global workforce.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global procure-to-pay team spanning procurement operations and accounts payable.
  • Define the optimal team structure and operating model as the business scales, including decisions about insourcing, outsourcing, and shared services.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Strategic Sourcing, Legal, Information Technology, Finance, and business-unit leaders.
  • Attract, retain, and develop operational talent with procure-to-pay expertise.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience deploying artificial intelligence, machine learning, or intelligent automation capabilities in a procure-to-pay or finance-operations context.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley controls, internal audit processes, and risk frameworks as they apply to accounts payable and procurement.
  • Background in high-growth technology or software companies where speed, scale, and financial discipline are prioritized.
  • Experience leading shared-services or business-process-outsourcing transitions.
  • An MBA or advanced degree.
  • CPSM, CPM, or accounts-payable/finance certification.

Databricks hires ex-AWS executive to lead Asia partners amid 85% growth

Databricks has appointed former Amazon Web Services executive Briscoe to lead its Asia Pacific & Japan partner organisation. She previously headed AWS's partner operations in the region and held similar roles at Microsoft and Cisco. The move supports Databricks' regional expansion. In April, the company named Simon Davies as regional leader and reported over 85% year-on-year growth in its fourth quarter. It now has more than 1,500 employees across Asia Pacific & Japan and plans to establish headquarters in Singapore. Databricks works with over 1,000 partners regionally and 8,000 globally through its Brickbuilder Partner Network. The company's AWS business has surpassed a $1 billion run rate. Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June. The earlier financing round included $2 billion in debt capacity intended to fund AI products, acquisitions and employee liquidity. At its current valuation, Databricks exceeds Snowflake's market capitalisation of approximately $83 billion. Management has indicated the company may remain private until market conditions improve.
