Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program meeting American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent standards.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification is required.
- Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is preferred.
- Compliance with hospital policies, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements, safety standards, and professional conduct.
- Willingness to meet vaccination requirements, with approved exemptions considered.
- Successful completion of a post-offer criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to perform ultrasound work independently with minimal supervision.
- Technical imaging skills, attention to detail, diagnostic accuracy, effective communication, patient care, confidentiality, and safety awareness.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently for all patient populations.
- Position patients properly and select appropriate transducers for each procedure.
- Capture and submit high-quality diagnostic images to the Radiologist for interpretation.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and examination rooms in optimal working condition.
- Use electronic systems, including Meditech, to verify orders and document procedures.
- Manage imaging workflow through PACS, including image storage and CD creation.
- Exercise independent clinical judgment and initiative.
- Cross-train and maintain competency in sonography practices as needed.
- Assist with additional departmental tasks during periods of low patient volume.
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of ultrasound experience is preferred.
- Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is preferred.
