The Role: Head of Strategic Partnerships
Overview: The Head of Strategic Partnerships is tasked with defining and executing sophisticated sales strategies for key accounts, with an emphasis on driving growth and expanding market presence in the asset management and wealth management sectors on a global scale. This role requires a nuanced understanding of the complexities of asset and wealth management, particularly within the context of model portfolios and direct indexing. The successful candidate will lead teams dedicated to fostering strategic relationships and advancing our mission to enhance the adoption of S&P DJI-affiliated index funds across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- Lead a team of highly accomplished and senior sales professionals entrusted with managing strategic relationships with key global clients.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive sales strategies tailored to global strategic accounts, particularly among the largest, most prominent asset managers in the world.
- Spearhead initiatives within Model Portfolios and Direct Indexing to elevate our offerings and optimize client engagement.
- Direct efforts to support client success, ensuring a strong emphasis on S&P DJI-affiliated index investments within the asset management community.
- Establish and maintain robust key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure ROI, with a specific focus on fund flows and the effectiveness of sales strategies. This includes rigorous tracking of metrics related to the adoption of S&P DJI products and in-depth analysis of trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage insights and drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with global market dynamics.
- Engage with key industry stakeholders to disseminate updates and foster collaborative strategies that enhance our competitive positioning.
- Cultivate high-performing teams across various functions to drive success in strategic partnerships, instilling a culture of accountability for results.
- Provide mentorship and support to team leads, enhancing their capabilities in navigating market complexities and product offerings.
- Gather and synthesize insights from client interactions to inform product development and strategic initiatives.
- Work with marketing to strategically shape the industry event calendar, focusing on opportunities that highlight our index solutions.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of performance against established KPIs, making data-driven adjustments to strategies as necessary to optimize fund flows and overall effectiveness.
Key Experience:
- Proven experience in leading high-performing teams, driving exceptional results through strategic vision, collaboration, and empowering talent.
- Extensive experience in crafting and executing advanced sales strategies for high-value accounts within asset management and wealth management.
- Deep understanding of asset and wealth management, with a proven ability to engage and influence senior leaders across diverse markets.
- Demonstrated success in managing global teams and initiatives, with experience spanning the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
- Strong people management skills to attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent across diverse teams.
- Proven capacity to align cross-functional efforts and drive consensus on strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on communication, relationship building, and conflict resolution.
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; an MBA is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in sales strategy development and execution, particularly within strategic accounts in asset management.
- Proven track record of engaging with senior executives and driving significant growth in relevant markets.
- Experience in talent development and coaching within sales teams, with a focus on high-performance outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making and strategy optimization.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $300,000 to $350,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as a semi-annual incentive bonus plan.
