  • 7+ years of experience in a trading environment or, 7+ years’ experience in an environment supporting complex business processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis roles, with exposure to finance activities and commodity risk management.
  • 5+ years of experience providing support for an enterprise grade application (preferably a CTRM/ETRM (commodity trading risk management) system).
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial analyst role or similar, providing business process support in enterprise software.
  • Experience with query writing using SQL (or equivalent) against a commercial database such as Oracle or MS SQL Server.
  • Experience with data analysis and database tools.
  • Experience with requirement gathering methodology.
  • Experience with leading/creating test plans and coordinating UAT activities.
  • Customer relationship skills, demonstrated responsiveness, analytical thinking, problem solving, and planning skills are required.
  • Application testing skills, how to organize and execute a test plan.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical information in a clear and concise manner to peers and business representatives.
Responsibilities
  • Supporting functional and technical aspects of diverse sets of applications and business process from multiple business areas.
  • Providing responsive customer-focused application support services for multiple business areas.
  • Creating and maintaining of business process and functional design for IT systems used by supporting business groups.
  • Reviewing of technical designs to ensure they will meet the fully qualified package of business requirements.
  • Providing technical configuration services for both operations and project initiatives.
  • Understanding and following professional IT practices within the Systems Delivery Life Cycle.
  • Providing long term solutions beyond problem resolution.
  • Developing and performing system testing plans and test cases to validate the system and process solutions to a package of business requirements.
  • Coordinating and delivering of user acceptance testing of end-to-end solutions.
  • Providing best-practice business process expertise in close alignment with our business stakeholders.
  • Assessing business process solutions based on the financial impact to the Capital Power and recommend cost effective solutions that meets business needs.
  • Participating in the resolution of business process and technical problems.
  • Serving as subject matter expert to the ‘internal’ team in relation to all business processes performed in relation to the ETRM applications eco-system.
  • Ensuring accurate execution of business procedures is executed with minimal checks and balance.
  • Using the knowledge of the entre business groups’ processes to develop an overarching solution.
  • Collaborating with other people leaders within IS or business groups to improve the offering provided by the business support team.
  • Collaborating with external contacts, to gain an understanding of industry standards and best practices to improve efficiency within the ETRM applications team.
  • Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
  • Out of business hours and overtime may be required.
  • Participation in the on-call rotation schedule
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with system integration and application support is an asset.
  • Experience troubleshooting or programming with Microsoft C# .NET is an asset.
  • CPA designation is considered an asset.

The event will highlight the Company's strategic priorities, 2030 growth targets, and 2026 guidance, underscoring Capital Power's position as a top-tier North American power producer serving the continent's growing electricity demand with reliable, efficient natural gas generation. 2025 Investor Day Highlights * 50% cumulative increase in U.S. capacity (or ~3.5 GW) * 13-15% annual Total Shareholder Return (TSR) * 8-10% annual AFFO per-share growth * Maintain 2-4% annual dividend growth target * A memorandum of understanding ("MOU") with funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management (NYSE: APO) ("Apollo Funds") to form a US$3 billion partnership to pursue the acquisition of merchant natural gas assets across the U.S. * A binding MOU to negotiate an Electricity Supply Agreement (ESA) in Alberta with an investment-grade data centre developer, strengthening Capital Power's role in powering the province's growing AI infrastructure.
