Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal training program in an AMA approved school and meets the requirements of an appropriate State and/or Federal mandated certification or equivalent.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Responsibilities
  • Communicates pertinent system issues to the Lead/Supervisor/PACS Manager/Systems Analyst or vendor on a timely basis.
  • Maintains department regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately utilizes RIS and Synapse downtime procedures when necessary.
  • Supports organizational cost containment.
  • Provides pre and post procedure education and reassurance to include but not limited to: what the procedure is, how long it is going to take, physician involved, contrast administration and mode of delivery, positioning, instructions related to procedure, the report, patient satisfaction form.
  • Verifies patient identification and pregnancy status through the use of double identifiers (name and DOB).
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and operational excellence through creativity, seeking continuous improvement and initiating breakthroughs.
  • Follows departmental Safety Policies and Procedures regarding one's personal protection and patient safety.
Desired Qualifications
  • 1 Year ultrasound experience
  • ARRT Certificate - ARRT
