  • Post-secondary education combined with a minimum of one-year QSR/retail/grocery service industry management/supervisor experience
  • Approximately 3 years previous QSR/retail/grocery service industry management/supervisor experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated effective employee training, coaching and conflict management experience
  • Highly motivated with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Results oriented team-player
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
  • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle for bank deposits and travel between stores
  • Strong communication skills – must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language to understand Company reports, memos, documents manuals, etc.

  • Store Leaders may be required to transfer to an alternate store within the market to support operational needs
  • The ability to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily store operations, supervise employees, and manage inventory.
  • Ensure staff levels meet operational needs; recruit quality team members, provide training and build talent.
  • Coach and mentor with respect and kindness to create a positive working environment and strong team culture for both staff and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members to inspire and motivate them to be customer obsessed , building loyalty, with solid collaboration within the Team.
  • Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews, make recommendations for pay increases and promotions. Provide performance counseling, conduct terminations, when necessary, as established by the Company.
  • Prepare payroll timesheets and work schedules.
  • Act as the liaison between management and team members.
  • Maximize sales by implementing plus selling and merchandising programs; create successful sales strategies to grow profitability, ensure product mix and inventory levels are maintained, priced, and displayed.
  • Review and analyze the store’s financial statements to monitor yearly trends and utilize proactive/preventative measures when necessary if underperforming.
  • Submit Daily/Weekly reports, handle deposits and balance deliveries/Inventory.
  • Responsible for maximizing Net After Selling by increasing sales, controlling expenses, managing shortage, and improving Gross Profit.
  • Create a positive public brand image by maintaining an appealing appearance of the store inside and out.
  • Coordinate maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure all employees operate in accordance with established Health and Safety policies, practices, and procedures and that the store has a current Health and Safety Representative in place.
  • Confirm compliance with all local, provincial, federal laws and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management and meeting deadlines.

99-year-old 7-Eleven closing 645 stores as chain shifts to food-focused format

7-Eleven plans to close 645 convenience stores in 2026 as part of an ongoing portfolio optimisation strategy. The closures follow more than 600 location shutdowns in 2024 and 2025 combined, representing part of a broader business transformation. The 99-year-old chain is shifting from a traditional convenience store model to a food-focused format with higher-quality prepared foods and beverages. Some locations will be converted to wholesale fuel stores, which aren't included in the company's store count. The closures target underperforming locations affected by inflation, weaker traffic and shifting consumer behaviour. 7-Eleven operates over 13,000 stores across North America and is eyeing a 2027 IPO whilst simultaneously opening new large-format, food-focused locations.
