Security Data Visualization Internship/Co-op @ Zoox

As a Data Visualization Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our Corporate Security and Environmental Health and Safety teams to design, develop, and maintain data dashboards. These dashboards will provide key insights and visualizations to support decision-making and enhance the overall safety and security of our organization. This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Corporate Security and Environmental Health and Safety teams to understand their data and reporting needs.
Design and develop data dashboards using industry-standard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Create interactive and user-friendly dashboards that visualize data trends, incident reports, security metrics, and safety KPIs.
Continuously update and enhance existing dashboards based on user feedback and changing requirements.
Assist in automating data retrieval and reporting processes to increase efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data dashboard functionality.
Collaborate with IT and data science teams to ensure data integrity and security.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data visualization and dashboard development.

Qualifications

Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and automation.
Familiarity with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for data analytics and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
Previous experience or coursework in cybersecurity or environmental health and safety is a plus but not required.

The monthly salary range for this position is $5,500 to $7,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
