Requirements
  • Experience programming Zeiss coordinate measuring machines using Calypso software is required.
  • Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
  • Experience using precision metrology equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and optical inspection equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, validate, and maintain repeatable and reliable coordinate measuring machine programs for precision-machined aerospace and defense components.
  • Use Zeiss coordinate measuring machine equipment and Calypso software to support first article, in-process, and final inspection activities.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing principles.
  • Perform and support AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements and documentation.
  • Customize coordinate measuring machine output and inspection reports to meet internal and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure dimensional conformity and measurement accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot dimensional discrepancies and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain organized inspection documentation, program records, and metrology data.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inspection efficiency, repeatability, and process optimization.
  • Depending on experience level, mentor junior inspectors and programmers and assist with standardization of programming strategies and procedures.
