Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business related or food service-related field desirable
  • Minimum (3) years' experience in management within a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment
  • Meat management experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer focused behavior with associates
  • Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude
  • Develops and implements localized merchandising plans, sets up and creates displays for new or seasonal items to drive sales
  • Schedules all Meat associates, oversees and participates in training, rewards and recognizes performance and delegates work assignments
  • Manages inventory levels and reviews orders to ensure product quantities meet customer demand
  • Checks and verifies all department deliveries and invoices to ensure accurate billing
  • Controls department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies, controls labor costs and reduces losses due to damages, spoiled product and shrink
  • Keeps meat department cases well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand
  • May grind and cut certain meats and poultry
  • Weighs and wraps merchandise at customer request; applies sticker showing correct price and weight
  • Maintains backroom and receiving area security and organization by promoting 5S procedures
  • Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors
  • Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE)
