Requirements
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • At least 10 years of direct involvement with HAB, EQOL, ALRE, aviation fuels, and HM&E aspects of aircraft carriers through onboard operational experience and/or fleet modernization efforts is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience accessing and using the Navy Data Environment for Ship Change Documents is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience reviewing, editing, and/or creating aircraft carrier HAB, EQOL, ALRE, aviation fuels, and HM&E Ship Change Documents is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience developing aircraft carrier design and modernization plans related to HAB, EQOL, ALRE, aviation fuels, and HM&E systems is required.
  • Basic computer literacy and data-entry skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong time-management skills are required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment is required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future, is required.

  • The ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking is required.
  • The role requires physical exertion, including prolonged standing and recurring walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing during shop activities, inspections, operational observation, or work aboard ships, submarines, and weapon facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Modernization Engineer on future-readiness, EQOL, ALRE, aviation fuels, and HM&E modernization issues.
  • Assist with developing aircraft carrier design and modernization plans related to HM&E systems.
  • Assess HM&E Ship Change Documents for technical merit and ship-integration issues.
  • Assess fielding plans and cost-benefit analyses for HM&E Ship Change Documents.
  • Liaise with N433 to ensure ALRE and aviation-fuels modernization requirements are addressed and adjudicated.
  • Assist the Modernization Programs and Policy Manager with meetings and conferences required to develop and schedule future-readiness and modernization requirements.
  • Provide fleet perspectives on HM&E aspects of future carrier design, new construction, and refueling complex overhaul.
  • Coordinate with COMNAVAIRLANT and COMNAVAIRPAC staff and confer with manufacturers, design agents, shipyards, and fleet agents concerning modernization.
  • Coordinate EQOL, ALRE, aviation-fuels, and HM&E modernization issues with the COMNAVAIRLANT CVN Requirements Office.
  • Provide bid and proposal support when requested.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • An active Navy Data Environment account is desired.
  • Experience with Haystack Gold or an equivalent system is desired.
  • Experience with MBPS Windchill, eLAR, SPAR, SPLI, eShock, and other eForms modules is desired.
