iTradeNetwork has launched Cerena for Operators Solution Suite, an AI-enabled platform designed for restaurant chain operators that unifies spend intelligence and transactional execution. The platform connects commercial visibility with integrated trade capabilities to help restaurant brands manage costs and purchasing across locations. The solution addresses margin leakage by integrating ordering, spend intelligence, contract management and compliance into a single system that enforces contract adherence before financial impact occurs. It connects enterprise oversight with distributor workflows and store-level operations, preventing gaps between negotiated terms and actual delivery. The platform combines SpendInsights for pricing validation and supplier analytics with contract management and OrderMaestro's unit-level ordering capabilities. iTradeNetwork, which serves over 4,000 trading partners in the food and beverage industry, will showcase the solution at IFMA COEX 2026 in Atlanta.
iTradeNetwork, North America's largest food and beverage trading network, has partnered with Google Cloud to integrate Gemini Enterprise and AI agents into its Cerena Solution Suite. The collaboration will automate manual workflows using Google Cloud's Data Cloud and Vertex AI platform. The partnership enables iTradeNetwork to embed AI-driven capabilities across procurement, finance and logistics operations. AI agents will handle routine tasks, identify anomalies and provide actionable insights within existing workflows. One example is an order agent that converts emailed or PDF purchase orders into validated transactions, eliminating manual data entry. The collaboration also enriches fragmented product data across supply chains, supporting pricing analysis, compliance tracking and supplier performance monitoring. With over 4,000 trading partners, iTradeNetwork has processed millions of daily transactions for more than 25 years.
That was the tongue-in-cheek way that iTradeNetwork's Drew Shields, Solutions Director, began a Learning Lab presentation at the 2025 IFDA Solutions Conference.

Alex SwartIs there a use case for NFTs in our global supply chain, or are they a passing fad with limited applicability outside of the digital art world? As the global perishable food market grew to roughly $152.24 billion by the end of 2022, and continues to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9.5% per year, leaders in the perishables supply chain space are expected to accommodate these remarkable growth rates in nearly every capacity. With this incredible expansion across the industry, a bevy of issues loom ever present for technology companies, logistics providers, and operators in their respective fields. The perishables industry is known to be notoriously slow to adopt new tech solutions and typically opts for simple implementations that don’t interfere with daily operations. In turn, it will be interesting to see which nascent technologies this industry chooses to adopt moving forward. With the traceability of goods, freshness and quality inspections, freight forwarding, shipping, and logistics all top of mind for supply chain leaders, questions in the industry continue to arise
