  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Seven years of management and leadership experience in Human Resources or a related management area, with Human Resources knowledge and expertise in the identified discipline, is required.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus are required.
  • The candidate must be well-organized, self-directed, politically savvy, and highly collaborative.
  • The candidate must relate to people at all organizational levels and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience as an educator, trainer, mentor, and facilitator, including conflict-resolution experience, is required.
  • Experience leading teams or projects beyond a department level is required.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required.
  • The candidate must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
Responsibilities
  • Set the strategic direction for systemwide Human Resources goals and processes with direct oversight for identified disciplines.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the identified discipline while collaborating with Human Resources divisions and employees.
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, and employee training; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; and address complaints and complex problems as needed.
  • Lead strategic development and administer processes and services for leaders and employees, presenting traditional and innovative solutions for systemwide and business-unit issues.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify workforce programs, plans, policies, and procedures, and advise management regarding their effectiveness and compliance.
  • Administer support systems and services for executives, managers, and employees while aligning business-unit and operational strategies.
  • Guide short- and long-range departmental budgets, allocate resources, manage revenue flow and vendor expenses, and implement cost-containment strategies.
  • Establish and evaluate vendor relationships, oversee requests for proposals, and negotiate vendor contracts.
  • Plan and execute projects and communications while maintaining effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Supervise departmental goals, performance-improvement activities, benchmarking efforts, and operational-excellence standards, and evaluate results against scorecard initiatives and system goals.
  • Lead system Human Resources activities, programs, and strategic plans and may lead corporate initiatives.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and participate in professional activities within the scope of responsibility.
  • Promote the organization's service and quality culture through teamwork, respectful communication, professional conduct, and anticipation of patient and customer needs.
  • Interact with all organizational levels, make individual and group presentations, lead teams, and facilitate system projects.
  • Provide decisions and consultation on Human Resources matters with organizational implications.
  • Manage departmental budgets; hire, select, retain, orient, train, promote, transfer, discipline, and terminate employees as appropriate.
  • Manage performance, including management positions, departmental productivity standards, organizational structure, policy development, compliance requirements, payroll approval, and departmental goals.
  • Use electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and the intranet.
  • Analyze data and information, prepare written letters and memoranda, apply critical thinking, and make decisions using sound judgment.
  • Maintain onsite physical presence and travel locally or long distance as required.
