Requirements
  • 2+ years experience as Field/Engineering Technician
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I & II
  • FDOT CTQP Earthworks I & II
  • FDOT CTQP Concrete I & II
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
  • Ability to read & write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients
  • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports
  • Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all testing equipment used is functioning properly and maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy
  • Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures
  • Drive to job sites and conduct testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials
  • Return samples to the office for testing
  • Report data in an accurate, complete, timely, and understandable fashion in accordance with applicable testing procedures
  • Operating testing equipment
  • Operate a motor vehicle
  • Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisor
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Prepare testing reports using Field Data Collection (FDC) software
  • Ability to write and retrieve emails using Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be willing to travel within the state of Florida, if applicable
  • Complete daily time and labor reports in accordance with company policy
  • Must be flexible to changing schedules and hours to support business needs
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies
  • Other duties may be assigned
