Requirements
  • Relevant business, commercial, manufacturing, or engineering degree, or 5–10 years of experience.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
  • Experience working in Quality Assurance.
  • Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Measurement System Analysis, and Statistical Process Control.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing.
  • Experience with IMDS, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment, lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight, and wear required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee internal and external customer concerns involving Ford, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, and other customers.
  • Assist with the plant internal audit system and corrective action reporting system.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with hosting external Quality System audits.
  • Assist the Quality Team in providing training on quality issues and business processes.
  • Coordinate the review of quality procedures associated with plant continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends concerning product quality.
  • Undertake special projects as required.
  • Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients.
  • Plan projects or subtasks so they can be tracked and presented.
  • Attend meetings and communicate instructions and actions.
  • Independently determine the approach to assigned tasks.
  • Train people within the work group.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Contribute to developing the company and supply-chain quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems.
  • Undertake auditing to ensure compliance and champion the Quality Management System.
Desired Qualifications
  • Membership in an industry-related professional body such as ASQ or SAE.
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Using artificial intelligence or ChatGPT to analyze or improve data understanding.
