  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field, from an ABET accredited university required
  • Applicants for this position are expected to have 2-5 years of experience since graduation working in the A/E/C industry
  • Previous full-time experience related to land/site development design in Florida is a plus but not required
  • Engineering Intern (EI) License required
  • Passed Florida Professional Engineer Exam preferred, with the expectation of obtaining a Florida Professional Engineer license once qualified
  • Highly proficient with AutoCAD drafting skills, with a working knowledge of Civil 3D
  • Highly proficient with design software such as StormWise, StormCAD, WaterCAD, or other industry-related software
  • Highly proficient with MS Office suite
  • Strong interest in designing and improving athletic and educational facilities
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers, owners, and public agency officials
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity of land development codes, environmental regulations, and construction processes
Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing site plans, utilities, drainage, and grading solutions in collaboration with civil engineering and architecture teams
  • Conduct site visits and help prepare reports documenting site conditions and potential challenges related to athletic, educational, and other site development facilities
  • Modify and update design drawings using AutoCAD or other relevant design software in collaboration with CAD staff; aid in developing civil engineering plans including sports field layouts, stormwater management systems, transportation access, and utility layouts
  • Prepare engineering-related calculations and specifications; perform drainage system design and calculations including stormwater management systems and storm sewer sizing; perform water distribution and sanitary sewer collection system design and calculations
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between civil engineering designs and architectural goals for sports and educational environments
  • Participate in projects aimed at creating environmentally responsible and energy-efficient facilities
  • Assist in researching local, state, and federal codes and regulations relevant to the project, including different levels of athletic facilities
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentation materials for review by senior engineers and project managers
  • Provide general project support including assisting with cost estimates, timelines, and coordination of project tasks
  • Provide construction administration support including review of submittals, answering Contractors’ RFIs, periodic site observations, site observation reports, and assisting in certifications and project close-out
