Requirements
  • Must have one year of supervised experience in the last three years as a Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide.
  • Must have current certification.
  • Must be in compliance with yearly medical documents.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Applicants must consent to a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Provide client assistance with nutritional and environmental support, personal hygiene, feeding, and dressing under professional supervision or perform selected health-related tasks as an extension of self-directed clients.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, ambulation, and related care as directed.
  • Buy, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in accordance with the prescribed diet.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks and errands related to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Work with community agencies involved with the client as directed.
  • Escort clients to healthcare facilities as directed.
  • Respect client rights and maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow basic safety rules to maintain a safe environment.
  • Remind clients to take self-administered medications as designated in the plan of care.
  • Guide clients in social activities.
  • Report changes in the client’s condition or home situation to the supervising professional.
  • Follow the plan of care established by a registered nurse or therapist and report changes in client condition.
  • Prepare a daily visit report and submit completed documentation according to agency policy and procedure.
  • Lift unspecified weights depending on assignment requirements.
  • Bend and stoop to prepare equipment and materials for treating clients or managing the client’s environment.
  • Transfer, turn, and position clients and assist them in walking and moving from place to place.
