What you will do:
We are looking for a Full-stack Java Engineer! Are you passionate about development, scalable data architectures, complex data transformations, and handling large data streams on the fly - all to deliver the best BI solutions in the hospitality industry? Great, then read on!
Where you will have impact:
- Research and test data processing methodologies, tools and frameworks
- Implement streaming and batch data processing pipelines
- SaaS and microservices architectures
- Clean, analyse and extract datasets from external sources
- Guarantee data integrity and quality by extending our logging, monitoring and outlier detection systems
- Deploy and monitor applications in a reproducible and scalable way
- Experiment, think about, and take ownership of a piece of our tech stack/infrastructure and find ways to improve it
- Provide support to your team members and other teams in the company. We have a very open and flat structure and have a very short feedback loop on both internal and customer questions
About our team:
We are a small but high functioning team of 6 versatile engineers including 2 DevOps engineers. We support, build and maintain the Distribution Insight product within Lighthouse. Our product consists of many components. We monitor TCP packets within our customer’s data centres, decrypt and reconstruct these into transactions which are then sent on to an ETL component which feeds our in-house built and maintained BI tool. The team is responsible for building, maintaining, supporting and deploying all of these components for our customers to be able to process billions of transactions across our install base and trillions of data points extracted from those transactions, all in real-time to be reportable within 10 minutes of them originally occurring. This data allows our customers to analyse their whole business from booking errors to response times of search results, realtime channel continuity, monitoring the impact of upgrades and partner management to name a few!

Who you are:
- Bachelor or Master degree in a software engineering field
- Experience writing Java code
- Fluency in SQL
- Affinity with big data
