Requirements
  • Experience in digital radiography.
  • An Associate's Degree is required.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
Responsibilities
  • Transport patients and participants within the department and to and from the waiting area, as required.
  • Perform cross-sectional studies and administer tracers.
  • Prepare, assess, and observe patients and participants for procedures and possible reactions or outcomes.
  • Perform imaging studies on large and small animals.
  • Clean and disinfect patient and participant rooms and equipment to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Follow prescribed techniques for general and specific x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging, and other radiologic scanning procedures; adjust equipment, determine voltage, current, and exposure time, arrange immobilization and support devices, adjust lead shields and cones, and select proper film.
  • Perform assigned radiologic procedures while adhering to prescribed techniques.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and report problems to the supervisor.
  • Perform fluoroscopy exams and mobile x-rays on patients as needed.
  • Process images, film, and other scanning documentation according to guidelines and photographic technique, and perform quality-control activities to ensure optimal radiograph quality.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with licensing in other cross-sectional modalities.
  • Experience handling large and small animals.
  • Experience in fluoroscopy.
  • Certification in computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.
