Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a discipline related to education and/or student services, two years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of student services, including managing, tracking, and supporting a significant student caseload from enrollment through degree or certificate completion.
  • Knowledge of intrusive advising.
  • Knowledge of one-stop enrollment incorporating registration, financial aid, admissions, and similar support.
  • Skill in organizing, time management, and prioritizing.
  • Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications, including a student information system.
  • Skill in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to provide accurate and sound academic and career advice.
  • Ability to be flexible, solve problems creatively, maintain confidentiality, use sound judgment, collaborate with others, apply initiative, work independently and with others, provide sound advice, be discreet, and be self-motivated.
Responsibilities
  • Guide assigned and walk-in students with program selection, program planning, and enrollment information and assistance.
  • Complete an individualized Student Success Plan for every assigned-caseload student; assist with class registration, financial aid filings, and billing issues; monitor and support student progression toward degree or certificate completion; and verify and update students on degree requirements.
  • Provide extensive support for students' educational and career goals; reach out to students falling behind in coursework; assist with transfers of study; and increase awareness of educational resources.
  • Assist with processing student admissions, registrations, and payments as needed.
  • Follow up regularly with assigned-caseload students to identify and resolve barriers to success, including referrals to internal and external resources and outcome tracking.
  • Review reports and update Student Success Plans.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including evenings and weekends, off-site registrations, and Dual Enrollment.
  • Greet walk-in students, support social media use for communication and promotion, participate in Workday testing, and work on various projects.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet student and College needs, including one evening per week and extended hours during peak registration.
  • Complete other assigned duties and responsibilities.
