The Job/What You’ll Do:
AssetMark strives to deliver asset management excellence, and the Trade Operations team plays a key role in this delivery by ensuring that clients are accurately invested in a timely manner with quality trade execution to ensure the best client outcome.
We are looking for an Execution Trader to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the efficient and timely execution of Equities and Fixed Income at scale. The execution trader will analyze trade execution performance metrics, such as trade fill rates, slippage, and market impact, to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate strategies. In addition, the individual will stay up-to-date with industry regulations, market practices, and best execution standards to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Chicago, IL or Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities:
- Efficient and timely execution of all platform activity in equities, fixed income and mutual funds
- Develop and execute pre and post trade analytics
- Conduct research and analysis on various securities to assess their liquidity, trading volumes, and execution risks.
- Evaluate counterparty performance relative to firm benchmarks
- Ownership and understanding of order routing and EMS activity
- Post-trade and end-of-day trade reconciliation
- Automate legacy operational processes to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external counterparties
- Act as a point of contact for trading-related inquiries and resolve any trading-related issues promptly.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to think creatively and critically while implementing ideas in a fast-changing environment
- Advanced knowledge of equity and fixed income market structure
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate data quickly and effectively
- Advanced skillset in data assembly and manipulation (Python, R, SQL)
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, business/finance, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in equity or fixed income trading
Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $85,000-$100,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
