The SDET operates within a highly technical team in WANdisco’s Belfast office. The role provides an opportunity to work with our cutting edge, patented data migration technology in conjunction with major cloud platforms provided by Amazon, Microsoft and Google. Working in an Agile environment within a team of talented engineers, the successful candidate will set up, maintain and perform test automation frameworks to help manage the final quality on production releases.

Responsibilities

Work within an Agile Java development team to complete high quality software releases
Author test cases for new features based on product requirements
Automate new tests using Junit
Test new features and bug fixes including exploratory testing to uncover edge cases
Work closely with product management to understand product requirements
Develop and improve the automated testing framework to streamline test contribution

Key Qualitifications

5+ Years Experience in a Quality Engineering role within a Software Development environment
Strong object oriented programming skills (preferably Java)
Strong Linux experience
Strong fault finding skills
Experience writing test cases to a high standard
Experience in debugging Java applications
Knowledge of Version Control such as Git and/or SVN
Team player who can also work on their own initiative

Additional Requirements (Optional)

Experience in the Scrum development methodology preferred
Hadoop and Cloud experience (Azure, AWS)
Experience with Jenkins and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies
Experience in defining and executing formal performance and load tests
Experience testing distributed or replication software
Experience of Python, Bash, Groovy

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field, or qualification from an accredited Academy
