Overview: The Principal Software Engineer is a fast-paced position in a rapid growth environment. We are looking for an engineer who can lead technical solutions for large scale Public facing API’s. A typical day includes prototyping ideas, code new features, instrument code, collaborate with stake holders and customers

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead Solutions & Develop Inovalon’ s API platform from ground up
Build high-volume large-scale SaaS applications.
Work with cutting edge cloud technologies and solve challenging problems
Partner with business development, engineering teams & sales to make impactful technical decisions that drive the product.
Mentor junior engineers 
Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.

Job Requirements:

5+ years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering delivering successful and innovative products.
Solid Experience in building Public facing Products at-scale including developer SDKs, APIs, and dashboards.
Proven track record of strategizing and articulating sophisticated technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Experience working with large scale data platforms.
Ability to independently define performant and scalable technical solutions from business requirements 
Deep understanding of well architected Enterprise frameworks: Operation Excellent, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency and Cost optimization.
Hands on development experience with AWS and cloud native architecture.
Experience in one or more backend major programming language such as Python, Go, Java.
Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (GIT, JIRA, Azure Devops etc.)
Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
Professional and positive communication skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range

$126,411—$175,000 USD
