Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated engineer on advanced magnetic recording head characterization.  Responsibilities of this position include:

1. Recording head data analysis, understanding the design concept, and  providing timely  feedback for design improvement.
2. Understand the conditions of how data been collected and provide advice on testing improvement or FA.
3. Link the collected testing data back to design features through in-depth data analysis, provide comprehensive assessment and validation of design concept.
4. Collaboration with cross function teams includes design team, back-end teams, testing team, and HDD team to ensure smooth characterization flow.

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D in Physics, Material Science, or Computer Science
• A minimum of 5 yrs experience in the following:
• Experience in the HDD industry developing hard disc drives
• Academic/educational background in magnetic recording
• Knowledge of recording physics.
• Strong data analysis skill. Use Python, Matlab, or JMP for large sample size data analysis.
• Independent work and ability to generate comprehensive reports and conclusions.
• Excellent communication skill and teamwork in order to collaborate with key stakeholders from multiple cross function teams.
