Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- At least 10 years relevant industry experience with at least 2 years people management experience
- Experience designing reliability test plans and managing the execution of those tests
- Experience overseeing the development and implementation of manual and/or automated hardware test fixtures
- Experience with electrical / electronics test methodologies including in-circuit testing (ICT), burn-in, functional testing, etc.
- Experience with hardware failure analysis techniques
- Knowledge of hardware manufacturing processes including PCB fabrication and assembly
- Experience planning and leading projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
- Experience with product development processes and quality systems for medical devices such as Design Control and ISO 13485 mandatory
- Experience managing contractors & vendors
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of hardware reliability requirements and test plans for products in development and commercial production in conjunction with stakeholders in Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D.
- Lead the development and execution of reliability test protocols and reports in accordance with the Element Science quality system.
- Lead the analysis of reliability test and field data to support the creation of actionable design, process, and supplier quality improvement plans.
- Oversee the development, validation, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of manual and automated hardware test methods and fixtures, including selection and management of test fixture development contractors.
- Lead root cause analysis of product design, production, and supplier issues as needed.
- Support the development and maintenance of design FMEAs and process FMEAs
- Create and maintain a Reliability & Test Engineering budget.
- Grow the Reliability & Test Engineering team to meet company needs.
- Provide technical mentorship and coaching and foster professional growth to less experienced engineers and technicians.
- Continuously improve engineering best practices and advise team on appropriate documentation practices and use of tools.
