  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory role (or similar) in a manufacturing environment or aviation maintenance setting.
  • Experience in understanding and following verbal and written instructions accurately, including the reading and interpretation of technical drawings and work scope instructions.
  • Successful completion of skill specific TIG welding courses from an approved technical or welding school and/or a minimum of two years’ TIG specific welding experience.
  • Previous certification credentials in an AWS welding classification, with AWS D17.1 preference.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of the team in accordance with the company standards.
  • Monitor assigned work while reviewing completed jobs/projects to ensure adherence to work scope and company expectations, including quality expectations and labor factor adherence.
  • Constantly monitor and adjust job assignments to ensure that the production schedule is met in partnership with the scheduling and planning department. Review productivity via daily analysis of labor factors.
  • Utilize computer software programs and applications in assigning, verifying, tracking, and monitoring metrics and job assignments.
  • Motivate, coach, and counsel team members to achieve desired results.
  • Manage personnel work hours, scheduled time off, shift schedules, and overtime.
  • Perform functions, such as performance reviews, employee development, accountability of team members, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action with the Weld Department Manager.
  • Collaborate with designated trainers and department managers to monitor, guide, and improve upon employee development as well as process improvements.
  • Conduct (along with the Weld Manager) regularly scheduled department meetings, including monthly meetings and smaller more frequent group meetings as required.
  • Communicate changes that affect employees in a timely manner.
