Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 15 years of progressive Finance leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior executive Finance role such as Vice President, Senior Vice President, or C-suite equivalent, is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale Finance transformation programs in a global, complex, matrixed organization is required.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale ERP and Finance technology implementations, such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or OneStream, is required.
  • Experience managing global Finance shared services or global business services models across multiple geographies is required.
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS 17, United States generally accepted accounting principles including LDTI, SOX, and international regulatory reporting requirements is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and influencing executive-level stakeholders, including Boards, Audit Committees, and external regulators, is required.
  • The candidate must be able to articulate a compelling future state for Finance and rally large, diverse teams behind the transformation agenda.
  • The candidate must have proven ability to lead organizations through significant ambiguity, disruption, and multidimensional change.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong commercial judgment and the ability to connect Finance strategy to enterprise value creation.
  • The candidate must demonstrate outstanding communication and relationship-building skills at Board, C-suite, and global team levels.
  • The candidate must have deep understanding of modern Finance technology, data platforms, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, and automation tools.
  • The candidate must be able to lead effectively across geographies, cultures, and organizational contexts in a global environment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior operational leader of Global Finance, accountable for day-to-day operational performance, resource deployment, and cross-functional Finance governance.
  • Define and enforce the Global Finance operating model, including roles, responsibilities, service levels, and accountability frameworks.
  • Drive standardization and automation of Finance processes across regions and oversee the Finance calendar for close cycles, regulatory submissions, and planning cycles.
  • Manage Finance headcount planning, resource allocation, and workforce strategy in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Lead the modernization of the Finance function and own the Global Finance Transformation Roadmap.
  • Oversee implementation of artificial intelligence, automation, enterprise resource planning platforms, robotic process automation, consolidation systems, planning tools, regulatory reporting platforms, and AI- and machine-learning-powered financial analytics.
  • Establish transformation governance structures, including steering committees, program management offices, and executive reporting cadences.
  • Build change management capabilities within Finance to support adoption, sustainability, and value realization.
  • Own Finance technology strategy and major Finance technology investment decisions, partnering with Global Technology, Procurement, and vendors.
  • Lead ERP and adjacent system implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Ensure Finance systems meet cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements across global jurisdictions.
  • Design and implement standardized, scalable Finance processes across jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
  • Lead process improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Establish Finance process ownership and governance, maintain a global process repository, and define performance standards and efficiency metrics.
  • Lead development and execution of the Global Finance data strategy, including data architecture, governance, master data management, and data quality controls.
  • Build and modernize Finance data products, dashboards, and reporting capabilities using platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Drive predictive analytics, scenario-based financial intelligence, and decision analytics.
  • Establish Finance data literacy programs.
  • Ensure Global Finance operates within applicable regulatory frameworks, internal control standards, and risk management requirements.
  • Oversee SOX compliance, risk and control self-assessments, remediation tracking, and readiness for IFRS 17/9, LDTI, and BEPS Pillar Two requirements.
  • Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, and Risk to identify, assess, and mitigate Finance risks.
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors, rating agencies, and regulatory bodies as a senior Finance representative.
  • Design and optimize the Global Finance operating model, including shared services, centers of excellence, and global business services capabilities.
  • Define the Finance delivery model and govern onshore, nearshore, and offshore execution.
  • Establish and govern Global Finance Shared Services and Centers of Excellence.
  • Drive Finance sourcing strategy decisions and manage third-party outsourcing and managed service providers.
  • Define and manage Finance service-level agreements, operating-level agreements, and internal customer satisfaction frameworks.
  • Lead Finance talent strategy, workforce planning, succession planning, critical role identification, upskilling programs, talent acquisition strategies, and organizational design initiatives.
  • Oversee Finance organizational design changes, restructuring, role evolution, and team integration.
  • Develop succession plans and maintain a leadership pipeline with focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Lead the strategic planning cycle for Global Finance, including the annual Finance Operating Plan, multi-year capability roadmap, and investment prioritization.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Committee, CFO, and business unit leaders to align Finance capabilities with business growth, capital allocation, and competitive differentiation.
  • Serve as a senior Finance liaison for mergers and acquisitions, market expansion, product strategy, and capital structure decisions.
  • Drive Finance integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • Represent Finance in enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as principal spokesperson and representative of Global Finance with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present Finance transformation progress reports, operational scorecards, and strategic updates to the CFO, Executive Committee, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Maintain working relationships with the CEO, CRO, CTO, Chief Legal Officer, and other C-suite leaders.
  • Represent Finance in investor relations activities, rating agency discussions, and external audit interactions.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador for Global Finance.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in life insurance, reinsurance, or financial services is preferred.
  • Actuarial credentials such as FSA or ACAS, or insurance-specific Finance certifications, are preferred.
