Job Description:
Vertex Inc markets a suite of SaaS software solutions for Indirect Tax Management. At different stages of the lifecycle, our customers use different solutions and, in some cases, must enter the same data several times (e.g., TaxPayer data) for each solution. In order to provide a better customer experience and improve data quality, this common data should be modelled and managed as master data. A Data Platform team and technology is in place today to unify our solutions by allowing shared information to flow across our SaaS offerings (and to provide a foundation to build new solutions), but it lacks a master data capability.
The position provides the technical leadership for defining and leading our master data capability within our Vertex Data Platform. It is responsible for defining the overall architectural approach for turning the Data Platform into a master data hub, identify the required functional components to be added, define a build versus buy strategy for these, and work with the team to integrate them within the Platform. In a subsequent stage, this position is responsible to fulfill the engineering lead capabilities to define the roadmap for developing master data domains using the Platform-as-hub within targeted release projects, work with data owners, data stewards and other stakeholders from our Data Governance council to gather requirements, and lead our Data Platform team members to implement these domains.
This position requires interaction with architects, software engineers, data stewards, and other stakeholders from our Data Governance council and, as such, requires excellent communication skills.

·(MUST HAVE) Knowledge of relevant MDM software tools and technologies is essential, including capabilities available as components (e.g., entity resolution capabilities).
·(MUST HAVE) Hands-on experience with business processes across multiple master data domains.
·(MUST HAVE) Experience designing and integrating disparate data models into coherent master data models using data integration processes.
·(MUST HAVE) Experience developing and implementing data quality improvement logic, e.g., maintenance, tuning and testing of match and merge rules.
·(MUST HAVE) Experience working within a data governance framework, helping stakeholders understand their master data requirements and pain points, and helping establish effective governance structures and policies.
·Experience with leading teams in an Agile/Scrum setting is a big plus.
·Experience working and integrating the Snowflake cloud based lakehouse solutions is a big plus.
·Experience working with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure and CI/CD DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging experience.
·Experience working and integrating with Profisee MDM is a plus.
