Requirements
  • Experience installing Public Safety Distributed Antenna System, Enhanced Radio Communication Systems, or Enhanced Radio Communication and Emergency Services infrastructure and equipment.
  • Proficiency in installing coaxial cables and connector terminations.
  • Proficiency in fiber installation; fusion splicing and operating fiber-optic equipment are desirable rather than required.
  • A valid California driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Applicants must meet the company's background and driving-record requirements.
  • Proficiency in industry-related equipment, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use the required automatic and hand tools for infrastructure applications.
  • Ability to work in unusual or difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 60 feet; working in crawl spaces and above ceilings.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, carry and move equipment and tools, and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.
Responsibilities
  • Install Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems in public storage facilities, hotels, multifamily residential projects, and medium and large commercial buildings.
  • Install DAS infrastructure and equipment and perform radio-frequency sweep testing.
  • Execute the installation project plan, including equipment delivery, staging, ordering miscellaneous materials, and coordinating with other trades.
  • Resolve field problems through research of multiple alternatives.
  • Report jurisdiction requirements and intended wiring and installation methods to the DAS Project Manager.
  • Communicate and interact with contractors and building owners.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Identify out-of-scope contractor or customer requests and notify the DAS Project Manager for change authorization and approval.
  • Identify and assist with solutions for efficient installation and scope completion.
  • Identify mistakes on plans.
  • Communicate project status to the DAS Project Manager.
  • Complete required company paperwork.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience commissioning and wiring Enhanced Radio Communication Systems equipment.
  • Proficiency with spectrum analyzers, continuous-wave testing, or PCTEL equipment.
  • Experience installing electrical conduits or low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Experience installing independent support systems in varied applications.
  • NICET certification, manufacturer certification, and an FCC license.
  • Fusion splicing and operating fiber-optic equipment.
