Requirements
  • High School degree or GED preferred
  • +2 years' experience in Manufacturing Production, assembly or quality processes and/or automotive repair and/or mechanical experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work safely
  • Experience with identifying Non-Conforming Material and containment of said material
  • Understanding of quality and inspection methods
  • Kaizen / continuous improvement process experience
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills (8D, 4M or similar method problem-solving experience)
  • Great sense of prioritizing and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team player - Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams
  • Production Operations Knowledge - Has a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate including production control, material handling, supply chain, quality, and production team
  • Understanding of how the manufacturing validation process runs in relation to complex new products that stretch across various engineer teams and manufacturing centers/factories (methodology, validation plans, associated KPIs)
Responsibilities
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Collect all materials and equipment needed to begin the Quality Inspection Process
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within the responsible area
  • Inspects, test or measure components, products and materials being received on a daily basis
  • Maintain a strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures thereby clearly identifying irregularities that may cause damage or inefficiency to the process by Identifying and containing suspect defective material found within the facilities and on the assembly line
  • Keep records of production quantities and time
  • Maintain equipment in good condition
  • Ability to develop and implement product inspection plans
  • Execute product and process validation/inspection plans
  • Improve product/process quality by defining/implementing recommendations for change
  • Assist in performing and teaching all processes and assignments within the department, with the ability to fill in as needed
  • Maintain open communication with counterparts to report back any Quality Concerns
  • Maintain a high-quality relationship with the manufacturing team they are supporting
  • Initiate and participate in quality-related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects
  • May perform other duties as assigned
