Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and monitor production schedules that align with customer service and delivery requirements while optimizing production efficiencies for the assigned product and location.
  • Produce, monitor, and communicate capacity reports to enable commercial and plant managers to plan and coordinate their areas.
  • Execute and monitor production schedules aligned with optimal inventory levels for billet, coil, and cut-to-length requirements.
  • Work with commercial and finance teams to monitor and disposition aged and out-of-specification inventory.
  • Identify and communicate supply-related constraints or issues, including potential resolution plans.
  • Coordinate daily communication with other schedulers and commercial staff regarding existing or potential delivery issues.
  • Cross-train in other production planning functions as required.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Respond to off-hour calls from operations leadership regarding schedule changes and issue resolution.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management or Certified Professional in Supply Management certification is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems and planning or scheduling modules is preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean training is preferred.
  • Experience writing reports is preferred.
  • Negotiation skills are preferred.
