Requirements
  • Highest level of education: High School diploma or G.E.D. (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • CMS-approved state and/or national certification or must meet certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
  • All appropriate state licensure, education and training required.
  • Attend Fresenius and publicly offered skill-based training as assigned by Clinical Manager.
  • History of high performance as measured by no lower than a commendable rating on reviews with no recent corrective actions.
  • Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the FMCNA dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification.
  • At least five years patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Staff related duties including recruitment participation, clinical orientation and training, functioning as a preceptor, delivering and maintaining competency evaluations/audits, collaborating with Clinical Manager and Education Coordinator on quality standards and continuous quality improvement, and assisting in training.
  • Education and communication tasks including educating personnel about facility water systems and environmental integrity, ensuring strong communication among staff, designing educational programs, scheduling training, monitoring CQI activities, and ensuring compliance with business policies.
  • Patient related duties including patient education on adequacy measures, welcoming patients, vascular access evaluation, obtaining vital signs and weight before/after treatment, cannulation, administering heparin as delegated, initiating dialysis, monitoring response, recording treatment data, machine programming, ensuring safety alarms, documenting treatment sheets, reporting changes to nurse supervisor, vascular access monitoring, collecting lab specimens.
  • Infection control specialization including assisting with audits, acting as change agent for infection control practices, reinforcing adherence, engaging patients and staff, education response for surveys, infection control education of new patients and families.
  • Maintenance/technical duties including environmental maintenance, cleaning, pretreatment alarms testing, SDS system initiation, disinfecting spills, efficient supply usage.
  • Record keeping including CQI participation, entering data, reviewing treatment sheets, preparing charts for admission, lab requisitions and specimen handling, lab courier coordination.
  • Physical demands and working conditions notes and travel requirements.
  • Education and licenses section including CMS certification and training, preceptor training participation, CPR.
