Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screening.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand product documentation and specification drawings.
  • Ability to accurately complete paperwork.
  • Ability to use measuring devices and gauges.
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and understand decimals.
  • Basic computer entry and retrieval skills.
  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to occasionally lift a maximum of 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work most of the day in a controlled environment with special gowning, clothing, and hygiene requirements.
  • Required use of safety glasses.
  • Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing products.
Responsibilities
  • Read and understand specifications for products being inspected.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on components, subassemblies, or finished devices to ensure compliance with written specifications and drawings.
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming components, subassemblies, or finished devices according to established procedures.
  • Accurately complete necessary documentation.
  • Follow all quality-system documents.
  • Report to work punctually and as scheduled.
  • Perform fine manipulative processes using a microscope, micro forge, video screen, and other equipment while seated or standing at a workstation.
  • Perform work in a controlled environment with special gowning, clothing, and hygiene requirements.
  • Perform various computer functions.
  • Provide training to quality-control personnel.
  • Assist in introducing new or improved products into production.
  • Perform routine maintenance on certain machinery and tools in the department.
  • Ensure measuring equipment used for inspections is calibrated.
  • Provide input to the supervisor or manager to improve department operations and efficiency.
