  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of Communications, Marketing or other relevant experience.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Equivalency: Will consider an associate’s degree with four years of Communications, Marketing, or other relevant experience or a high school diploma/GED with six years of Communications, Marketing, or other relevant experience.
Responsibilities
  • Drafts content for internal and external use, including news articles and press releases, adhering to journalistic standards.
  • Conducts interviews with internal and external stakeholders for articles or other marketing materials.
  • Disseminates written information to the media.
  • Develops and actively contributes ideas for content, visuals and stories with a focus on increasing audience engagement.
  • Assists in implementing agency communication strategy.
  • Pulls and presents analytics to be used in developing agency communication strategy.
  • Posts to internal and external websites.
  • Assists with internal and external events.
  • Establishes timelines for projects.
  • Coordinates with team members to ensure the project is completed according to the established timeline.

TEEX trains people and organizations to respond to emergencies and protect safety through emergency response, homeland security, and workforce training, plus exercises, technical assistance, and economic development support. It serves about 170,000 people annually across the U.S. and abroad with hands-on, customized courses taught by field experts. The centerpieces are the Brayton Fire Training Field, Disaster City, and the Emergency Operations Training Center, along with facilities for utilities, law enforcement, and ordnance training.
