Requirements
  • Solid foundation in mathematics, probability, and statistics.
  • Understanding of commercial insurance business.
  • Knowledge of underwriting processes and insurance pricing methodologies (both traditional and innovative).
  • Hands-on experience in pricing for both short-tail and long-tail classes of commercial insurance (e.g., property and liability lines).
  • Experience in pricing model development using exposure and experience rating methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of loss development factors (LDFs), increased limit factors (ILFs), and loss curves.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and adjust ILF/loss curves, including impact analysis.
  • Experience in building pricing tools/raters using Excel or Rulebook.
  • Proficiency in frequency, severity, and loss cost modeling.
  • Expertise in Excel formulas and VBA to build user-friendly features in pricing tool.
  • Work experience in building and managing array of Pricing tools/ Raters across multiple commercial lines business.
  • Expertise in tear-down analysis of any given rater, and make comparative study of rates and ILF curves used between different regions.
  • Change management of rates and implement version control process.
  • Adhere to best practices and diligently follow the protocols in testing the rater, deploying the rater and communication to Underwriters.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain good rapport with Underwriters and deliver demonstration to Underwriters and other users.
  • Familiarity with actuarial tools such as EMBLEM/RADAR.
  • Experience in Generalized Linear Models (GLM) for frequency and severity modeling.
Responsibilities
  • Lead design, engineering, deployment and troubleshooting of data warehousing and business intelligence environments.
  • Interact with management teams to understand reporting requirements and drive optimized solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
  • Work with SQL Server to manage database objects, indexes, and performance tuning.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems and sources.
  • Provide expertise in pricing tool or rater development and maintenance within commercial lines.
  • Lead actuarial pricing activities for General Insurance including pricing, model development and rate analysis across multiple lines (General Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Financial Lines).
  • Perform tear-down analysis of rate applications and compare regional rate and ILF curves.
  • Manage change control and versioning for pricing tools; test, deploy, and communicate changes to Underwriters and users.
  • Support data visualization and data science initiatives as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in claims experience study, LDF analysis, ILF analysis would be a value add.
  • Experience in reviewing rate adequacy of portfolio, performing model reviews and proposing rate changes on yearly basis would be a value add.
  • General Insurance Pricing knowledge with emphasis on General Liability, Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Financial Lines.
  • Proficiency in data mining or statistical tools such as SAS, R, or Python.
  • Background in actuarial science curriculum and familiarity with regulatory frameworks in US/UK Statutory contexts.

IICA and WNS launch Ybrant Program to cultivate responsible business leaders. In a landmark initiative to integrate sustainability and responsible business conduct into mainstream management education, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), in partnership with WNS Global Services, officially launched the IICA - WNS Ybrant CSR, ESG & Sustainability Program on 11th November 2025. The collaborative initiative marks a major step forward in fostering a new generation of socially responsible, sustainability-minded leaders. The launch event took place in the presence of esteemed dignitaries and over 250 student participants from leading academic institutions, underscoring the program's wide appeal and national relevance. Redefining Leadership in a new era of sustainability. Delivering the keynote address, shri gyaneshwar Kumar singh, director general & CEO, IICA, articulated the transformative potential of the Ybrant Program. He emphasized that the program aims to instill in young minds a leadership philosophy that balances business success with societal good. "Through the IICA - WNS Ybrant Program, we aim to prepare future leaders who see business not just as a means for profit, but as a vehicle for sustainable and inclusive development," he said. Singh cited a striking statistic: India's CSR expenditure has seen exponential growth over the past decade - from ₹10,065.93 crore in FY 2014 - 15 to ₹34,908.75 crore in FY 2023 - 24. He noted that more than ₹2.2 lakh crore has been collectively spent on CSR by Indian corporates over the past ten years. This underscores the maturing ecosystem of corporate responsibility in India, demanding a professional workforce that can navigate the balance between profit and purpose. Industry-Academia-Government synergy. Speaking at the event, Mr. Gopal Agarwal, Head CSR, WNS Global Services, described the Ybrant Program as a strategic three-way collaboration between government, corporates, and academia. "The idea is to catch them young so that the future CEOs grow up with a perspective rooted in sustainable development," he stated. The program is designed as a blended learning model, seamlessly integrating: * Academic rigour from IICA's expert faculty * Real-world insights from industry leaders * Technology-enabled delivery for accessibility and scale Participants will also receive digitally verifiable certificates through IICA's proprietary credentialing system, enabling recognition through QR codes, DigiLocker integration, and LinkedIn sharing, ensuring maximum value and visibility.
