Role: Diagnostic Engineer, Field Service
Location: Fremont, CA
Reports to: Director of Service
Summary
As Diagnostic Engineer for Field Service at Pebble you will play a pivotal founding role in establishing our Diagnostic, Repair and Field Service. You will be responsible for inspection, diagnosis and repairs of Pebble RVs, both at our Fremont headquarters and in remote locations. As part of this role, you will have the unique opportunity to help build and scale the service organization, influencing not only technicians as they on-board, but our internal engineering and quality teams as well.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis and work cross-functionally with software and hardware engineering teams to contain and remediate issues.
- Develop and implement comprehensive service strategies for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of Pebble RVs, ensuring alignment with Pebble’s business objectives.
- Maintain detailed operational records, managing the ordering of parts, tooling, and shop supplies to enhance service efficiency.
- Enhance battery support and technician training programs, providing field support for automotive high-voltage systems and training technicians on advanced battery service procedures.
- Collaborate with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to report findings and develop protocols, leading tactical field support and ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery.
Experience
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EV manufacturing and one or more of the following environments – root cause analysis, product design and development, testing and validation or technical project management; 8 years preferred.
- Experience with fast-paced organizations and able to drive collaboration across functions and levels within the business
- Hands-on mindset – the role may require active involvement in tasks that demand practical participation.
- SQL/Spreadsheet/Presentation skills/Jira/confluence
- Experience operating in remote locations with up to 50% travel required
Salary Range - Fremont, CA
$90,000—$126,000 USD
