Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 year relevant work experience or
  • Associate's Degree with 4 years relevant work experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years relevant work experience
  • Must have extensive computer skills, particularly in WMS and MS Office Suite products.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively interact with others.
  • Must be highly motivated to join the Electric Operations, Quality Assurance team as a Specialist.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a service oriented work ethic with experience in managing multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Must understand the vital importance of commitment of excellence and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Must possess the ability to manage, establish and implement the section's goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to read and interpret Construction Layouts, Engineering Specifications and Bulletins.
  • Must have knowledge of Overhead and Underground construction, service installation, and URD operations, including installation repair, replacement, testing, and inspection of the Con Ed Overhead electric distribution system. This includes engineering specifications and bulletins governing electric construction.
  • Must be familiar with the PSC Safety Inspection Program (SIP).
Responsibilities
  • Supervise Local 1-2 or Local 3 subordinate personnel in the inspection, physical installation, and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment; including work in progress, ride along, onboarding and training- OH SIP inspection, UG SIP inspection resource for answering questions.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans, specifications, environmental laws, and regulations by conducting safety talks, providing support, resources, and conducting safety inspections.
  • Maintain mandatory compliance and skills training as required by OSHA and company specifications, and by taking corrective actions and giving timely feedback.
  • Verifies, account for and approves expenditures for labor, material supplies and equipment within prescribed limits.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
  • Educate field forces on all related UG and OH electrical construction specifications
  • Provide transparency, build relationships, create Quality Leaders that drive the importance of safety and compliance
  • Educate new Supervisors on the requirements of an effective Quality Control Program
  • Educate new GUWs and supervisors on their role in quality
  • Educate newly promoted union workers on their roles and responsibilities of their new position as it relates to quality
  • Service Box self-flush program train inspectors on quality methods, educate what constitutes a stopped inspection, provide feedback on accuracy of inspection
  • Attend Sections Safety and Business meetings throughout Electric Operations and foster a dialogue between specification writers and field forces within Engineering present at Senior Leadership meetings
  • Respond to and support all emergency events as needed.
  • Roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: crew guide, damage assessment and OH / UG support
  • STR 3 Role
  • Required to perform compliance inspections and must be able to perform work in underground structures and equipment vaults in close proximity to energized conductors and distribution equipment, as well as on customer premises. Work will be performed in all types of weather and during system emergencies. Successful candidates will receive all required training necessary to perform the work

(Con Edison) (NYSE: ED) today reported 2024 net income for common stock of $1,820 million or $5.26 a share compared with $2,519 million or $7.25 a share in 2023.
