View

Saltworks Technologies treats industrial wastewater and refines lithium. It designs, builds, and delivers full-scale, modular systems that combine chemical, membrane, and thermal processes for customers in energy/resources, manufacturing, and agriculture. The systems recycle and reuse water, remove contaminants, and aim for zero liquid discharge, water desalination, and brine management. In lithium, the technology increases yield and purity of battery-grade products through integrated processing. The company operates on a business-to-business (B2B) model, selling proprietary technologies and turnkey systems, as well as related services and maintenance. Its goal is to help industrial clients reduce water use, recover useful resources, and produce clean water while managing brine and waste efficiently, with scalable solutions tailored to each site.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Richmond manufacturing expansion adds 70,000 square feet and triples capacity.
  • Project Aurora won $1 million for Generation-II lithium refining demonstration.
  • Tighter water-discharge rules expand demand for high-recovery ZLD systems.

What critics are saying

  • IDE Technologies competes directly with larger installed-base desalination contracts.
  • Lithium project financing delays reduce pilot conversions and plant orders.
  • Expanded capacity creates margin pressure if industrial project demand slows.

What makes Saltworks Technologies unique

  • Modular, factory-built systems combine chemical, membrane, and thermal technologies.
  • Saltworks spans wastewater treatment and battery-grade lithium refining in one platform.
  • Mobile pilots and remote support de-risk concept-to-full-scale deployments.
