- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
- A minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience is required, including a minimum of one to two years of clinical experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing; state or regulatory agency requirements may vary.
- Completion of a course focused on teaching adult students, experience teaching adult students, or experience supervising nurse aides; state or regulatory agency requirements may vary.
- Current Basic Life Support certification must be maintained.
- Current CPR certification is required under state-specific requirements.
- Plan, develop, teach, and coordinate the certified nursing assistant training program.
- Supervise, monitor, and evaluate the performance of nursing assistant students.
