Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in related field and/or 10+ years relevant work experience
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in a senior role
  • Experience in cloud provided infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge in popular database systems; Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design and performance tuning.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery, security, and high availability solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Track, and fulfill all incoming requests and projects
  • Work with business and other technical areas to get clarity on requests and translate to a technical solution.
  • Create, update and close Kanban tickets.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are communicated to the status of the requests and projects.
  • Work with the Incident Management Team and other technical teams
  • Participate in incident calls, provide support and updates as needed.
  • Provide remediation steps to mitigate future incidents
  • Engage vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, Azure) when needed.
  • Participate in post incident review discussions (problem analysis, resolution and mitigation of future events).
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Respond to automated alerts.
  • Bring in other technical teams as needed, based on issue.
  • Respond to calls from other technical resources that need assistance.
