  • An Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and a Bachelor's degree in any field are required.
  • At least four years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including two years in clinical respiratory care and two years as a faculty member or clinical preceptor in an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • Direct and specialized knowledge in the area of instruction is required.
  • Expertise in the assigned area sufficient to provide instruction is required.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development, teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance is required.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, counseling, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information discreetly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with essential deadlines and multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to use computer hardware and software to process transactions, store documents, enter data, and perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to safely ambulate and maneuver on site and perform the stated physical activities, including occasional operation of computers, manual and electrical equipment, and diagnostic or procedure equipment, and rare lifting of up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to follow safety precautions, use personal protective equipment, and adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
  • Ability to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment and in student learning environments with varied conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and document clinical education experiences in alignment with the approved curriculum and program outcomes.
  • Enforce and drive clinical education objectives that support student competency development and learning expectations.
  • Coordinate clinical education activities with didactic instruction and program scheduling needs.
  • Evaluate clinical education sites for appropriate learning environments and instructional resources.
  • Conduct and document regular clinical site visits to assess student progress and achievement of clinical objectives.
  • Support quality assurance activities, including data collection, reporting, program review, and advisory committee participation.
  • Establish and maintain clinical affiliation agreements that meet institutional, regulatory, and program requirements.
  • Supervise clinical education activities to ensure consistent application of program policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and verify student compliance with health, background, and regulatory requirements before clinical placement.
  • Oversee clinical instruction and supervision so students meet program completion and licensure-readiness requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a high-performance team of staff through training, performance management, and career-development activities while leading the team to achieve business results and performance metrics.
  • Recognize and reward employee contributions and achievements.
  • Communicate with students and provide direct instruction.
  • Travel locally and overnight as required, up to 10%.
