The Director of Risk and Compliance coordinates the development, review, implementation, application, audit, and updates to comprehensive programs, policies and procedures in compliance with requirements that regulate Restaurant365 business operations in the areas of payroll, paycards, payment processing, and banking. The Director will partner with Executive Officers and senior leaders to guide and advise on policy management and industry best practices to maintain compliance and manage risk for the company.
How you’ll add value:
- Build operational processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, payment network rules and industry best practices, for current and future Restaurant365 offerings and partnerships, including, but not limited to Payroll, Paycards, Bank Sponsors and Processing Partners.
- Evaluate Banking Secrecy Act (BSA) / Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) banking requirements for new and existing products or features.
- Evaluate the bank’s policies, procedures, and processes to assess, manage, and mitigate potential risks associated with foreign individual customers who the bank has designated as politically exposed persons (PEPs).
- Develop and maintain program frameworks and governance over the enhanced due diligence program.
- Create tactical and scalable solutions for operational teams to manage compliance tasks and risks.
- Make recommendations for and assist in executing process improvements and procedure updates for the leadership team.
- Draft and maintain relevant documentation and content for changes to the program in accordance with regulatory updates, new products, and overall Compliance team policies and procedures.
- Communicate the progress of and oversee the end-to-end implementation of each operational change to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Stay informed of regulatory developments, payment network rules, industry trends and understanding business practices and Restaurant365 roadmaps to drive decisions to achieve complete results.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equally relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience.
- 8+ years as a project or program manager with direct demonstrated experience in BSA/AML compliance and operations or 8+ years in relevant compliance operations role in banking or financial services.
- Advanced knowledge of compliance programs, practices, and related issues including KYC, EDD, and PEP (politically exposed persons) in the payments industry and in-depth knowledge of financial terms, principles, regulatory expectations, and best practices.
- In-depth expertise in BSA/AML regulations, risk and mitigation strategies, and typologies.
- A metrics-driven approach to analyze business/financial data and create substantiated solutions.
- Strong communication, problem solving and process management skills with demonstrated ability to relationship build, establish credibility, and maintain high standards, respect and trust.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate sophisticated banking/payment topics and issues effectively and concisely to executives, team members and others.
- An ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- In-depth understanding of compliance, operational risk, internal control framework and customer friction.
- Strong risk assessment capabilities and experience is required.
- Project management experience with strong organizational skills is required.
- Demonstrated passion and agility leading within a high-growth technology company or start-up.
- High professional standards and expectations for self and others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
