Requirements
  • College graduate with a 4-year degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3 years of public accounting and/or private industry experience
  • Ability to examine and verify financial documents, reports, and transactions; research and analyze accounting transactions; verify the accuracy of data; reconcile financial data and accounts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and address difficult situations in a professional manner
  • Innovative and able to provide “outside of the box” solutions
  • Passion for having an owner’s mentality towards responsibilities and for career growth
  • Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage deadlines effectively

Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the accounting process for our Spend Management SaaS product, including setting up reconciliations, performing contract reviews and working with cross-functional teams to drive system improvements.
  • Ownership of the accounting process for costs of revenue as it relates to the Brex Card product. This includes setting up reconciliations and assessing the appropriateness of estimates used.
  • Ensure timely month-end close through the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and variance analytics
  • From time to time, supporting areas such as fixed assets, internal use software, cost allocation and others
  • Identify and deliver process improvements via cross functional collaboration
  • Create sustainable, repeatable and scalable processes, including the review and update of process documentation
