Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • At least five years of construction engineering experience is required.
  • Experience with resource monitoring techniques, including cost accounting and basic estimating, is preferred.
  • Experience with construction technology, process systems, and/or structures is preferred.
  • Specialized technical knowledge of design-build or other alternative build techniques is required.
  • Ability to delegate and assign work to the engineering team to advance project production is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices is required.
  • Ability to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays is required.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods, and cost coding is required.
Responsibilities
  • Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedules and confirm all materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data.
  • Provide technical input for the project work plan and scheduling.
  • Identify production, materials, equipment, or process risk elements that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to track project performance.
  • Update the project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
  • Prepare and manage a three-week work plan, notify engineering and project management of significant schedule changes, and develop solutions to mitigate delays and costs.
  • Initiate and manage all Requests for Information.
  • Submit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
  • Manage invoicing with the accounting team regarding materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
  • Review certificates and permits required to perform the work.
  • Review required Job Hazard Analyses to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for construction personnel.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews as needed.
