Join our Laboratory Operations team at BioAgilytix in Boston as a Laboratory Technician! In this this role, you will support the general operations of our laboratory in Boston. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance; logbook completion and maintenance; ensuring calibrations are completed and documented; troubleshooting laboratory equipment; and performing minor repairs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for the routine maintenance of laboratory equipment including performance checks, preventative maintenance, and logbook completion and maintenance, ensuring calibrations are performed as scheduled and documented in logbooks and electronic systems
- Support all equipment onboarding needs for the labs including, but not limited to filling out new equipment forms, managing vendor and internal customer implementation, coordinating, and scheduling any new equipment minor repairs, setting up future maintenance plans, and calibration orcertification needs
- Ability to learn QCBD to process work orders for calibrations, PM’s and other equipment maintenance tracking processes
- Work with vendors to facilitate instrument installation, maintenance, and performance monitoring
- Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment and/or performing minor repairs
- May assist with developing and reviewing equipment SOPs and to ensure adherence to GLP, GMP, GCP
- Review calibration records and logbooks and initiate Quality Events as necessary
- Assist in responses to facility and client audits as they relate to laboratory operations
- May assist ordering laboratory and general supplies for Operations as well as ordering and replacing consumable laboratory equipment such as clocks and timers
- May assist with materials management (general laboratory supply stock) for the laboratories, including hazardous waste and biological waste disposal
- Support the scientific staff by ensuring all ancillary laboratory processes are efficient
- Recommend and implement ideas to improve laboratory efficiency or safety
- Assist in ensuring environmental health and safety in all laboratories
Additional Responsibilities
Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Education/Experience
- Associate degree with operations experience in an analytical, biology, biochemistry or microbiology laboratory is required
- No less than two (2) years of experience managing equipment/calibration records preferred
- Experience in large molecule pharmaceutical research and development in a regulatory environment and working with biohazardous material, blood borne pathogens and chemical hygiene plans, preferred
Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Well organized with ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously; ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time, on-site position
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
