In the Structural Heart team, our products are used in the treatment of patients with heart valve disease (aortic, mitral, pulmonic and tricuspid), with responsibility for Transcatheter Aortic Valves (TAVI Evolut platform) and Transcatheter Pulmonic Valves (TPV – Melody & Harmony). The TAVI the market is growing double digits in the UKI. The market is increasingly competitive and is a key growth driver within Medtronic, seeing significant investment into our therapy. Our customers are clinical and non-clinical, and mainly (but not exclusively) within the Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery specialities of large tertiary centres or centres with referral links to those tertiary centres. They include Interventional and General Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Imaging Specialists, cardiac Cath lab managers, specialist nurses, directorate managers and procurement. This role focuses on understanding and removing the barriers that Healthcare providers and patients currently face when trying to access this technology in Medtronic targeted centres.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Increase the market penetration of TAVI and the Evolut platform through the DGH / referral network (hub and spoke model) and addressing the unmet need of Aortic Stenosis for where TAVI is indicated.
- Drive referrals into identified Medtronic implanting centres by mapping out and understanding the referral network; DGH through to tertiary centres.
- Patient Pathway Optimisation: Understand the Aortic Stenosis patient journey and uncover the rate limiting steps / barriers, to develop market development and expansion strategies for TAVI.
- Identify and build good working relationships with non-traditional customers e.g. General Cardiologists, Care of the Elderly etc in secondary care, with the objective to improve the access to TAVI and increase referrals of appropriate patients.
- Accelerate local awareness of Aortic Stenosis and support programs to driving high-quality and consistent referrals through Heart Team for TAVI.
- Implement and support multidisciplinary hospital meetings at secondary and tertiary level in conjunction with local territory team & leadership to assess & plan pathways to improve referral efficiency.
- Use health economic value data and arguments to demonstrate unmet needs and create actions plans, by target account to increase TAVI access through referral network.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree or similar health care qualification
- Experience in market development roles, medical devices / cardiology preferred.
- NHS infrastructure, pathway & referral knowledge
- Demonstrate ability to reduce barriers to therapy treatment to achieve business objectives
- Multiple stakeholder & project management skills
